The flagship course of the BDA has its alumni in strong positions in the industry. It is mentored by qualified and experienced professionals. Students undergo a two month internship at renowned garment manufacturing and export house. The course culminates in a fashion collection presented in a fashion show.
Course Objectives
To provide students a solid foundation in design concepts and skills.
To equip the students with advanced concept of Fashion Design principles and its elements..
To teach stream specific skills and methods, and make them aware of the ideal working method, as well as the current trends, markets and products.
To fulfill the demand for qualified Fashion Designers required for ever-increasing real fashion consciousness among people, and growing aspirations.
To enable students to identify problem areas and provide solutions without compromising on basic design principles.
Course Duration & Timing
Fashion Design (2 Years Diploma Course)
Mon – Fri 1030 – 1545 hrs,
Sat 1030 – 1500 hrs.
Fashion Design (1 Year Certificate Course)
Mon – Fri 1030 – 1545 hrs,
Sat 1030 – 1500 hrs.
Fashion Design Short Term (6 Months Certificate) Course
3 days a week, 1100 – 1400 hrs
Courses commence in the month of August every year.
Who Should Join?
Students who wish to establish themselves professionally as fashion designers.
Course Pre-requisites
Students should have passed or appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination.
Placements
Placement assistance will be extended to students who have completed their academic requirements.
Teaching Methodology
Learning by doing – focus on gaining practical knowledge using a hands-on approach.
The first year of the the 2 year programme comprises primarily of the Design Fundamentals programme, a solid foundation. Classroom activities, keeping them engaged. This is followed by discipline specific learning, industry visits, tours etc provide added exposure. A very positive student-teacher ratio ensures that students get individual attention.
Internships (only for 2 & 1 year courses) are facilitated for eligible students.
